GEE-ZA-WHIZ

by Adam G Holofcener

ALBUM RELEASE DATE: March 29, 2021

AGH started 2020 off under the thumb of chemical imbalance. He didn’t expect to make a record. His body and earth said can’t. AGH leaned in; slowed everything down; made further inquiry and survived.

The compositions that made their way onto GEE-ZA-WHIZ hewed close to this closeness and focused on a range of issues: talk therapy, religious reengagement, intergenerational wealth divestment, finding purpose as the general counsel of your social network, potent dreams, and love songs re: those outside the key demographic.

Lester “Poppy” Cohen died in 2020. AGH couldn’t grieve in the ways that tradition dictates. The making of this album was an exercise in unconventional mourning. While we wait to throw Poppy the party of the roaring (20)20s, AGH offers you this record to hurt to in the meantime. GEE-ZA-WHIZ is for Poppy.

This webpage offers advance listening access to GEE-ZA-WHIZ before its official release. The album will also be pressed to cassette tape later in the spring.
